Russian version of FIFA.com’s competition web pages and media accreditation launched

FIFA is pleased to announce the launch of a Russian language version of the official website of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship Russia 2006: www.FIFA.com/ru . In addition, the media accreditation process for the competition has been opened and is now available via an online registration link in the ‘Related Items’ section of the competition page and ‘Media Services’ section of FIFA.com ( http://www.fifa.com/en/comp/index/0,1534,U20W2006,00.html ).

The addition of Russian to the existing English, French, Spanish and German language versions makes www.FIFA.com the most complete and accessible resource for both fans and journalists in the host country and all across the world. The site will be a one-stop Internet shop for rich editorial coverage of the competition, including previews, team profiles, exclusive interviews, live match coverage through the FIFA.com ScoreCard, as well as official match reports, photo galleries and complete statistical information from every moment of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship Russia 2006.

Members of the media should apply for accreditation as early as possible as space is limited and the deadline for application is 25 July 2006. Successful applicants will be notified and provided with further information in due course. Please also be advised that international applicants are responsible for their own visas, so journalists are encouraged to contact their respective Russian embassies and consulates as soon as possible for visa requirements.

In addition, as a courtesy for journalists attending the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship Russia 2006, the Local Organising Committee has organised the possibility for members of the media to book a variety of hotel rooms at special rates: click here for details ( http://www.fifa.com/documents/fifa/events/ Media_Accommodation_U20WWCRussia2006.pdf ).

The only official website for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship Russia 2006, www.FIFA.com is the best way to follow all the action from Moscow and St. Petersburg this summer. For complete competition details, including updated team profiles, the match schedule, host country information, qualification information, previous competition results and more, visit www.FIFA.com > Women’s> FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship.
