Group D Korea Republic 0-2 Canada Colombia 1-1 Spain

Memorable moments Benches provide motivation boosts: Several teams at Uruguay 2018 have shown the importance of building morale from the sidelines. Before their match with Korea DPR, USA's substitutes built a guard of honour for the starting XI, clapping and screaming as the starters sprinted through it. Similarly, Korea Republic's bench all lined up just outside the players' tunnel, giving high-fives to the starting players just before they entered the pitch for the second half.

Cameroonian milestone: History was created in Colonia Del Sacramento. Cameroon won their first ever FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup match and their third in total at any Women's World Cup age level. At the final whistle the team could be seen celebrating jubilantly, dancing for their fans at the Estadio Alberto Suppici. "I'm very happy with the result and the performance of my players," said Cameroon coach Stephane Ndzana. "The key to our success was our physicality and our speed. But we were also very strong tactically." He will be looking for more tactical astuteness from his side when they come up against holders Korea DPR on Wednesday.

Relentless Colombian support: There will be a few Colombian fans with hoarse voices in the morning. Chants of 'Colombia! Colombia! Colombia!' were metronomic around Estadio Charrua in Montevideo as they cheered their team on to a earn deserved point against Spain.

Vocal Yu: Korea DPR goalkeeper Yu Son-Gum was the unsung hero of their victory over USA. She communicated with her team throughout the entire 90 minutes in Colonia. Even when her side were pushed up far from her on the pitch, she continued yelling instructions until she got her point across. Clearly, they made a difference as the holders kept their quarter-final qualification hopes alive.

The words "This is a team I'm so proud to be the coach of. Obviously there was a red card but they turned the game around and showed who they really were: resilient. We have zero goals against in two games; fantastic team performance today." Canada head coach Rhian Wilkinson speaks after her side's 2-0 win over Korea Republic in Montevideo
