“Same game, same emotion”, a slogan to unite the generations

The slogan of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018

On Saturday 29 September, 45 days before the start of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018, FIFA and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) announced the tournament's slogan: Same game, same emotion.

General Coordinator of the LOC Valentina Prego shared the concept behind the slogan. "Football is the most popular sport in Uruguay, encompassing all ages and social classes. It’s a single feeling that unites the entire population. Therefore, it is wonderful that new generations grow up feeling that football is experienced with the same emotion by men and women," she explained.

"The World Cup is an invitation to really feel this emotion through participants who are very close to the generations that are now in development. It’s an invitation to experience football played with camaraderie, fun and a very high level of skill. Football here is the same game for everyone and one that stirs up the same emotion," added Prego.

Sarai Bareman, FIFA's Chief Women's Football Officer, for her part, said she was “delighted to announce the official slogan of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018”.

Same game, same emotion” is a strong message, it embodies the unforgettable moments fans will experience thanks to the beautiful game and it will inspire future generations to play football. Through this competition, LOC, FIFA and its stakeholders continue to support the growth of women’s football globally, we all look forward to seeing a thrilling tournament kick off in November.”
