Guwahati

On the far eastern side of India, in the tea state of Assam, lies the gateway to the north-eastern part of India: Guwahati.

The city provides us with the perfect amalgam of hills, rivers and beautiful plains in between. Guwahati is also known as the 'Light of the East', and is the commercial hub of the North-East region.

The majestic Brahmaputra river flows through the north and the city is bordered by foothills of the Shillong Plateau in the south and Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary in the east.

Besides its passionate football following, Guwahati is known for its rich cultural heritage and is home to the famous Kamakhya Temple.
