Official squad lists released
The 32 finalist associations qualified for the 2006 FIFA World Cup have duly registered all 736 players using an online tool. The squad lists, which are now available on FIFA's official website, www.FIFAworldcup.com, include the following details for each player: shirt number, position, popular name, shirt name, date of birth, height, weight, caps, goals, first cap, club and club country.

Almost every second player (345, 47%) is on the books of a club in one of the five major leagues in Europe, i.e. England, Italy, Spain, France and Germany. No fewer than 102 players play in England.
Seven players will be featuring in their fourth FIFA World Cup: Reyna and Keller (both USA), Kahn (GER), Al Deayea and Al Jaber (both KSA), Cafu and Ronaldo (both BRA). USA goalkeeper Kasey Keller is the only one who participated in the 1990 FIFA World Cup before missing out on the competition in his native country in 1994. Only Cafu, Al Deayea and Al Jaber actually played in the last three tournaments.
England's Theo Walcott, born on 16.03.1989, will be the youngest player in the competition and he will become the youngest ever goalscorer at the FIFA World Cup if he scores. Tunisia's goalkeeper Ali Boumnijel, born on 13.04.1966, will be fifth on the all-time oldest players list after Milla, Jennings, Shilton and Zoff.
The second, updated version of the official lists of players selected for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany will be published on FIFA's official website, www.FIFAworldcup.com, at 12.00 (CET) on Thursday, 25 May 2006. These lists will include the following details for each player: shirt number, position, popular name, shirt name, date of birth, club, club country, height, weight, caps and goals.
