Media "open house" at referees' headquarters in Frankfurt/Neu-Isenburg
On Whit Monday (5 June 2006), the headquarters of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany referees and assistant referees will open its doors to the media.
Between 13.30 and 15.30, media representatives will have the opportunity to take photographs and conduct interviews with all 81 match officials in the Hotel Kempinski Gravenbruch in Frankfurt/Neu-Isenbrug where the officials will be based for the duration of the World Cup.
This will be the only occasion when the match officials will be available to the media before the start of the competition.
FIFA and adidas will be arranging a photo shoot, with the officials sporting their new official World Cup kit, at 13.30.
Later that day (at 16.30), there will also be a media conference with Ángel María Villar Llona in the Hotel Kempinski Gravenbruch. The FIFA vice-president and chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee will answer questions from the media regarding refereeing matters and the referees at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. There will also be a simultaneous interpreting service in the four official FIFA languages (German, English, French and Spanish).
For media representatives interested in attending this event, there will be buses to the Hotel Kempinski Gravenbruch from Frankfurt main station and Frankfurt's stadium media centre as from 12.30. Buses will depart from the hotel and return to the main station and media centre as from 16.00. Due to the limited number of parking spaces at the hotel, media representatives are requested not to use private transport.
Only journalists with accreditation for the 2006 FIFA World Cup may attend this World Cup refereeing "open day." Media representatives interested in attending are requested to register with FIFA Media Officer Andreas Werz ( email@example.com ) by 3 June at the latest.
