Media Guide: FIFA Partners and Suppliers Contact List

Required: Partners, Not Just Donors

As the largest and most popular single sporting event in the world with a cumulative TV audience of over 30 billion worldwide, the FIFA World Cup™ can offer its commercial partners far more than just perimeter fence advertising. Nowadays sports sponsorship means not merely a presence at the tournament itself, but also being involved in a variety of activities surrounding the event.

Official Partners are offered a range of exclusive opportunities to appear in front of an audience of millions. Together with the Official Suppliers, they help FIFA implement numerous activities such as 12 World Championship tournaments in different categories, and wide-ranging programmes to develop and promote the game.

Furthermore, the sponsors enable football fans all over the world to become a part of the FIFA World Cup™. Through global ticket promotions, fans have a unique opportunity to support their team at the stadium itself with all expenses-paid travel and accommodation. And thanks to the support of adidas, Coca-Cola, Deutsche Telekom and McDonald's, 6-12 year-olds from all of the 32 qualifying nations can travel to the FIFA World Cup finals as flag bearers, ball boys and girls, and escort kids for the players, making children's dreams come true.

"The FIFA World Cup needs first-class partnerships, based on mutual understanding, trust and respect. FIFA Partners are much more than just financial backers. They have made a decisive contribution to the development of football, and hopefully football has contributed to the development of their business," FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter said, adding: "FIFA is proud of these long-term partnerships. They are an essential component in staging an event like the FIFA World Cup. The cost of organising the 2006 tournament runs to over €1 billion (including prize money)."

In return for their significant contributions, both financial and in kind (around €642 million), the sponsors enjoy worldwide product exclusivity. For this reason, protecting this exclusivity has been a key mission for FIFA, which has developed a comprehensive global rights protection programme in recent years.
