Media accreditation: "Football for a Better World – From Germany to South Africa" Show

Dear media representatives,

We are pleased to inform you about media accreditation process for the "Football for a Better World - From Germany to South Africa" Show on Friday, 7 July 2006.

Just two days prior to the final match of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, this show will mark the start of a four year journey from Germany to South Africa with a celebration of music and football. With this free show, FIFA wants to give something back to the millions of football fans in the stadiums and at public viewing fan parties around the world, who have visibly demonstrated that football can contribute to making the world a better place and the FIFA World Cup a joyful and unforgettable experience.

High ranked dignitaries such as the General Secretary of the United Nations Kofi Annan, the President of the Republik of South Africa Thabo Mbeki, FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter, LOC President Franz Beckenbauer as well as the Governing Mayor Klaus Wowereit will attend the event. Among the top artists from around the world are Youssou N'Dour, Freshlyground, Sean Paul, Wyclef Jean, Xavier Naidoo, Wir sind Helden, Die Fantastischen Vier and Michael Mittermeier, just to name a few. The event will be hosted by German TV stars Monica Lierhaus and Matthias Opdenhövel.
