McDonald's Player Escort Programme

The McDonald's Player Escort programme is a magnificent scheme - giving 1,408 children the chance to be a part of the FIFA World Cup™. Through the exclusive Player Escort programme, children aged 6-10, get the chance to fulfil their dreams and walk out onto the pitch at some magnificent stadiums in Germany.

The Player Escort Programme brings together the stars of today with the stars of the future. The feeling every Player Escort has when they pull on the yellow shirt will be the same rush that is felt by every player waiting to play in the FIFA World Cup. This is where the McDonald's Player Escort Programme differs and excels from other programmes - it gives the children the chance to be face to face with top players!

McDonald's have never brought so many Player Escorts from so many countries to a football event as for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. At this years event there will be 247 children from 51 countries with the remainder made up of children from Germany. Since 2002, McDonald's has given over 3,000 children the opportunity to be Player Escorts at tournaments including the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan, UEFA EURO 2004 and FIFA Confederations Cup 2005.

For some of the lucky escorts there is an opportunity to participate in Player Escort football matches, the day prior to their big day. This is a new initiative being run at this tournament to demonstrate McDonald's commitment to Balanced Active Lifestyles.

This Player Escort Programme has been extremely successful at previous events and will continue to be a focus point for McDonald's in Germany and for the foreseeable future.
