English language public viewing area at the trotting race course in Gelsenkirchen

The City of Gelsenkirchen has announced the addition of an English language public viewing area to accomodate the anticipated arrival of visitors for the quarter-final match between England and Portugal.

Match transmission on the giant screen, supplied by a British broadcasting company, will be in English as a service to English fans. American journalist, David Patrician, will be the emcee and greet the fans.

The grounds at the trotting race course can hold a capacity of up to 80,000 people and will be ready for use by 5pm on Friday, in time for the Germany v. Argentina quarter-final.

The 2006 FIFA World Cup™ FAN FEST at the Glückaufkampfbahn will also be extended in time for the Germany v Argentina quarter-final. An additional giant screen will be erected in an adjoining sports ground enabling a total of 30.000 visitors to take part in the Fan Fest.
