City of Nuremberg Media Lounges and media dates during the 2006 FIFA World Cup™

During the Football World Cup, the City of Nuremberg Press and Information Office will offer two media lounges for members of the press. These media lounges will be located in the "Ballazzo" (in the K4 Cultural Centre, Front Building, Königstraße 93, 2nd floor) and on the FIFA 2006 World Cup™ Fan Fest (Volksfestplatz). They are open to all journalists. Please present press card for accreditation at the venue.

Both Media Lounges also provide an area for relaxing. And, of course, there will be monitors and broadcasts of all World Cup matches. Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be available for media members.

There will be a daily press conference at 12.30 p.m. in the Media Lounge in "Ballazzo" from 10 June to 26 June 2006. Permanent representatives will be the municipal World Cup co-ordinator, Peter Murrmann, a City of Nuremberg security official, representatives of the police press office and of the Nuremberg branch of the Organising Committee for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, plus further persons, depending on daily events.

Communication facilities for wireless LAN will be provided (subject to a charge) in the Media Lounge at the "Ballazzo".

Press Lounge Fan Fest FIFA 2006 World Cup™ Volksfestplatz, access via VIP area opened daily from 1 p.m. to midnight between 9 June and 9 July 2006 Separate parking facilities are provided at the Fan Fest for TV broadcasting vehicles / SAT-mobiles.

In the Stadium Media Center (SMC) – with access only for journalists who are accredited for the FIFA 2006 World Cup TM – the City of Nuremberg is represented at the City Info Desk.

Both Press Lounges as well as the City Info Desk will provide journalists with information on the City of Nuremberg and the city's support programme for the World Cup.
