FIFA announces four National Supporters for FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada
With the world's premier competition in men's youth football due to begin in Canada in late June, FIFA is pleased to announce that it has signed up four National Supporters for the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2007. The four companies will play a key role in promoting the event throughout Canada and in engaging the local population in what will be the country's largest single-sport event to date.
Second only in size and scope to the FIFA World Cup™, the 52-game, 24-team FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 is sponsored on a global basis by FIFA's top-tier partners adidas, Coca-Cola, Emirates airline, Hyundai and Sony. The diversity of the local sponsors - from the sectors of insurance, telecommunications, frozen fruits and vegetables to home fashions and furnishings stores - is a ringing endorsement of the event's appeal as a fully integrated national marketing platform.
The four National Supporters are as follows (product category in brackets): BMO Insurance (life and disability insurance for mortgages, loans, lines of credit, travel, illness protection and individual life), Bell Canada (telecommunications services and equipment), Europe's Best (frozen fruits and vegetables) and Winners (home fashions, furnishings and décor retail).
The competition, which will take place in the six Canadian cities of Victoria, Burnaby, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal, runs from 30 June to 22 July and will showcase the world's top youth teams battling it out for the right to claim the crown of world champion.
