SEMP joins line-up of National Supporters of FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019™

  • Brazilian television manufacturer expands sports sponsorship portfolio

  • Semi-finals to take place this Thursday, 14 November

FIFA is pleased to welcome SEMP, a leading Brazilian consumer electronics manufacturer, as a National Supporter of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019™.

Founded in 1942, SEMP is a pioneer in the Brazilian consumer electronics market. The 77 year old company manufactured the first TV and radio sets in Brazil and continues to produce innovative, high quality products for thousands of people in Brazil and around the world.

SEMP joins the FIFA U-17 World Cup™ in the product category of television sets. The move expands the brand’s involvement in football after the company became a sponsor of the Brazilian Football Association earlier in 2019.

“Encouraging the new generation represents an opportunity to nurture new talents, as in the case of our current ambassador, Rodrygo Goes, who has been with the company since the start of his international career. It is a great pleasure to be part of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, a world class tournament, and to support the development of these young footballers,” said Patricia Vital, the Head of Marketing at SEMP.

“SEMP is a well-known name in sports sponsorship in Brazil. We are delighted it has recently decided to expand its support to include the FIFA U-17 World Cup,” said Jean-François Pathy, FIFA’s Director of Marketing Services. “We look forward to having the company on board.”

The Brazil 2019 semi-finals will be contested on 14 November, with the undefeated hosts facing France and Mexico taking on the Netherlands. The final will take place in Brasília (Gama) on 17 November. The full match schedule can be found on FIFA.com.
