The FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019 is gradually taking shape. After confirmation of the venues and the match calendar, it is now the turn of the draw, which will define which groups the 24 teams will play in starting from 26 October.

The ceremony will be live streamed on the FIFA TV YouTube channel.
Who will the special guests be?
As usual, FIFA Legends will be on stage for the ceremony and assisting with the draw. On this occasion, they will be two former stars of the competition: Brazilian Sonny Anderson and Nigerian Celestine Babayaro.
Babayaro, a former left-back who played for Chelsea and Newcastle United among others, was part of the victorious Nigeria side that won the U-17 world title in 1993 in Japan. Anderson, who played for Barcelona, Olympique Lyon and AS Monaco among others, represented Brazil at the FIFA U-16 World Championship Canada 1987.

Pot allocation
The 24 teams were allocated a pot based on their ranking as determined by their performances at the last five editions of the FIFA U-17 World Cup (2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017).
The points obtained at each of these five editions were added up, with progressively less value given to the older editions. For example, a 100 per cent weighting was applied to the 2017 points total, but only 20 per cent to that of 2009.
Those teams who qualified as continental champions were awarded five additional points.
The top five ranked teams were placed in Pot 1 with hosts Brazil; the next six sides went into Pot 2, and so on until all four pots had six teams each.
Draw format
Brazil, as hosts, will automatically be assigned the A1 slot.
Each of the six groups (named A to F) will have four teams.
There cannot be more than one team from each confederation in any one group.
