Early-bird tickets for FIFA U-17 World Cup™ available until October 23

In just a month’s time, the best young players in the world will take centre stage in Brazil as the FIFA U-17 World Cup™ kicks off with Brazil v. Canada at Brasília’s Estádio Bezerrão.

To enable more fans to catch a glimpse of the most talented young players on earth, FIFA and the LOC have extended the deadline to purchase early-bird tickets with a 50 per cent discount until 23 October.

The only official platform on which to apply for tickets is FIFA.com/tickets, where fans can also find details about the prices and the upcoming sales phases. Visa, the Official Payment Services Partner of FIFA, is the preferred payment method for all FIFA ticket sales.

“Everyone knows that Brazil is football-mad, and as I was born in the federal district and as I’m currently playing for Brasiliense, I know that fans in Brasília are no exception. I’m sure that they will embrace the FIFA U-17 World Cup as they, along with fans in Goiânia and Vitória, will be able to see the world’s best young players right on their doorstep,” said Brazilian football icon and FIFA World Cup™ winner Lúcio.

“I have achieved a lot in my career but I regret not having had the opportunity to play a World Cup or a youth World Cup on home soil. The Brazilian U-17 players, as well as all other squads, will now have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to display their talent in front of a global audience.”

Together with FIFA U-17 World Cup champion Anaílson and LOC director Ricardo Trade, Lucio visited on Wednesday Brasília’s Estádio Bezerrão where they met with the sports secretary of the federal district Leandro Cruz Fróes da Silva and the director of the football association of the federal district Márcio Coutinho. On Thursday, the 2002 FIFA World Cup winner along with Anaílson and Trade discussed preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup with Goiás governor Ronaldo Caiado, sports secretary Rafael Rahif and the president of the local football association Andre Pitta at Goiânia’s governmental palace.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2019 will be the first-ever FIFA youth competition in Brazil. Besides the Estádio Bezerrão in Brasília and Goiânia’s Estádio da Serrinha and Estádio Olímpico, Vitória’s (Cariacica) Estádio Kléber Andrade will stage the youth showpiece.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup has historically been a springboard for the stars of the future, with players of the ilk of Gianluigi Buffon, Francesco Totti, Ronaldinho, Xavi, Toni Kroos and Neymar all blossoming at the tournament. With just 30 days to go until the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2019 kick-off, FIFA.com presents a list of 30 players who wrote history at the tournament. The full story is available here.
