The official draw for the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018 took place on Tuesday 4 September in Zurich. For the seven participating teams, the path to glory is now laid out for the 12 to 22 December showpiece in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Draw results Prior to the draw it was already known that Al Ain FC (the current UAE league champions) would take on OFC champions Team Wellington FC in the opening game on 12 December in Al Ain.
The draw decided the pairings for the second round, to be played on 15 December in Al Ain, as well as the semi-final fixtures.

FIFA’s Head of Tournaments Jaime Yarza directed the draw with the assistance of FIFA Legend Esteban Cambiasso, who won this tournament with Inter Milan in 2010.
"It was an unbelievable feeling," Cambiasso recalled. "It's when you realise that you are the best team in the world, and think about all you've done to get to arrive at that moment. I was very, very lucky to have that trophy in my hands."
