6 days to go: Pep’s Bayern make history in Morocco

A Bayern Munich side featuring Franck Ribery, Philipp Lahm and Toni Kroos lifted their first FIFA Club World Cup trophy in 2013, adding to their previous global triumphs of 1976 and 2001 at the Intercontinental Cup. Pep Guardiola’s side did so against a valiant team who defied the odds to contest the world final.

As Morocco staged the Club World Cup for the first time, Raja Casablanca had the honour of being the host club. Though they were expected to merely make up the numbers, they instead exceeded all expectation - beating Concacaf kings Monterrey and Ronaldinho’s Atletico Mineiro to be one game away from global glory.

The FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019 gets under way on 11 December.
