Video Vault: When Ronaldinho graced the world stage with Mineiro

Seven years after gracing the FIFA Club World Cup with Barcelona in 2006, Brazilian great Ronaldinho returned to the global finals at the age of 33 - this time with Atletico Mineiro. Inspired by the success of compatriots Corinthians the year before, Atletico travelled to Morocco 2013 with high hopes.

But it was not to be for the 2013 Copa Libertadores winners, who were defeated by host club Raja Casablanca in the semi-finals before claiming bronze in the third-place match against Asian kings Guangzhou Evergrande. Ronaldinho nonetheless left his mark on the 2013 edition by finishing as the joint-top goalscorer, netting delightful free-kicks in each of Mineiro’s games.
