Video Vault: When Corinthians were global kings

In 2012, Corinthians brought the FIFA Club World Cup back to South America for the first time in six years, defeating favourites Chelsea in the final. O Timão’s triumph ended a five-year run of European dominance and recalled the early days of the tournament when Brazilian sides prevailed in the first three editions – Corinthians having been the inaugural winners in 2000.

To date, they remain the last team from outside of Europe to claim the global crown. Emerson Sheik and then-manager Tite – the man who led Brazil at Russia 2018 – explain the significance of the Brazilian giants' success in Yokohoma.
