In recent weeks, the battle for top spot between DanielOlaf and eyinmisan has dominated the headlines in stories about the FIFA World Leagues Predictor. However, thanks to a haul of 351 points, javy1409 finds himself back at the position he has occupied for many weeks of the 2007/08 season.

It's the first time the American has held top spot in 2008, but despite seeing his Mexican and English rivals enjoying the limelight, he has always maintained close contact with the leaders - and his haul of 351 points was enough to see him leapfrog the in-form duo.

It proved to be a disappointing week for eyinmisan. The Nigerian-born picker amassed just three correct results [147 points] and now finds himself in fourth position, as a great week for MPear11 [330 points] took him up to third.

Yet eyinmisan can take heart from the fact that there is just a 161 point gap separating him from the top spot. It's all set up to be a nervy and nailbiting finish.

Top scorers
This week proved to be a good week for Peruvian pickers as hello2 and wgpt82 both made it into the top ten. Despite seeing the San Lorenzo de Almagro-Velez Sarsfield game postponed, hello2 still managed to rack up 482 points to top the weekly standings.
For his efforts he wins a signed jersey from the FIFA World Cup™-winning player of his choice.

The six best finishers from the week (one from each of FIFA's six confederations) also receive the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany book entitled 'The Final Day' together with the DVD 'The Grand Finale'.
