Superstar start to Season 4

Premier League favourites

Welcome predictors, to an all new-season of FIFA World Leagues Predictor. The menu for Round 1 includes a French derby, a crucial Brasileirão fixture and a superstar clash in an all-new Premier League season. takes a closer look at some of the Round 1 matches.

Match of the weekLiverpool-Arsenal (England)
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson faces a trial-by-fire as the Reds take on Arsenal in their first match of the new season. Liverpool were twice sunk by the Gunners last season, with a 2-1 defeat at home and a 1-0 defeat at the Emirates. Despite their seventh-place finish last season, Liverpool enjoyed 17 clean sheets (only Manchester United and Chelsea enjoyed more shut-outs last season). With ten of the 17 recorded at home, and having only lost only three home games last season, Liverpool remain very difficult to beat at Anfield.

South American showdown*Fluminense-Internacional (Brazil)
*Fresh from a 2-1 away win over Guadalajara in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final, Internacional must squeeze in an important league match against current leaders Fluminense this weekend, before their title-deciding Libertadores fixture next Wednesday. Undefeated at home in six matches, Fluminense will be very difficult to beat at home.

Derby of the weekBordeaux-Toulouse (France)
Our featured derby of the week is the Derby de la Garonne, contested by Bordeaux and Toulouse. Jean Tigana will be looking for his first win at the helm of Bordeaux and will be hoping his team can emulate their last derby result against Toulouse - a 1-0 win at home.

East meets westNew York Red Bulls-LA Galaxy (USA)
The New York Red Bulls will look to capitalise on their recent win against Toronto, when they host the LA Galaxy at Red Bull Arena. Fans are hoping for an exciting match with the current top two MLS goalscorers going head to head; New York’s Juan Pablo Angel and Galaxy’s Edson Buddle have averaged a goal a game so far this season.
