In London, just a few hours before The Best FIFA Football Awards, FIFA Legends convened for the fourth time since 2016 to discuss hot topics on today's football agenda.
You have all shaped an era and are idols for the next generation worldwide. That made you legends. Your participation is very important to us, because you give us very valuable views on the future decisions that we need to make.

The meeting lasted over 3.5 hours and touched on several different topics.


SESSION 1

  • FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT IN ALL CONFEDERATIONS
  • VIDEO ASSISTANT REFEREE (VAR)
  • INTERNATIONAL MATCH CALENDAR

For the first time, the Legends proposed topics they wanted to discuss in the second session of the Think Tank. How to develop Women's Football across all confederations was one of the main ones.


I am pleased to see this year that more and more women are involved. It is very important to further promote women's football and to have a platform where we can express our thoughts and exchange ideas - this is a crucial part of this process.

It is great for those who left a mark on the pitch to have a place to leave it also off the pitch. We bring a lot of ideas to be discussed at the top international level, and that is always positive.
