The Best FIFA Football Awards™
17 Nov 2016
Barcelona - Villarreal / La Liga / 8 November 2015: The young Brazilian, winner of the 2011 FIFA Puskás Award, is the most-nominated player in the award’s history, with 2016’s nod representing his fifth nomination after a run of four-in-a-row between 2010 and 2013. This year’s effort is significantly different to the individual solo run that brought him the trophy when playing for Santos in 2011. The ball went from penalty area to penalty area in ten seconds in a brutal Barça counter-attack, with Luis Suarez bursting down the left wing against the Yellow Submarine. His cross infield found Neymar and, three swift touches, and an awesome demonstration of technique, later, the ball was in the net beyond Alphonse Areola.
