In May and June 2019, the eyes of the football world will turn towards Poland, with the country set to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup. The official draw will take place on 24 February 2019 in Gdynia Arena. Gdynia - along with Tychy, Bielsko-Biala, Bydgoszcz, Lodz and Lublin - is one of the Host Cities for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Poland 2019.

"We are pleased that the draw ceremony will take place in Gdynia Arena," said Marek Dolinski, director of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Poland 2019. "A big event awaits us and preparations are under way right now. Of course, the arena will be properly arranged and adapted to the needs of the ceremony itself."

To date, eight teams have booked their place in next year's U-20 World Cup and their delegations will visit Gdynia for the draw ceremony. They include Oceania representatives New Zealand and Tahiti, as well as European sides France, Italy, Norway, Portugal and Ukraine - with Poland qualifying as hosts.

The Gdynia Arena is one of the most modern venues of its kind in Poland. Its multi-functional nature allows not only for the organisation of sports competitions, but also for other events such as concerts, shows, business conferences, exhibitions or fairs. Gdynia Arena is part of the Gdynia Sports Centre, which also includes the stadium, where matches at Poland 2019 will be held.

The opening match of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Poland 2019 will take place on 23 May 2019, with the final scheduled for 15 June 2019.
