Video Vault: World Cup’s leading marksman

Pele, Just Fontaine, Gerd Muller, Ronaldo – many renowned goal-getters have graced the FIFA World Cup™ over the years, but Miroslav Klose sits top of the pile. With 16 goals at four editions, no-one has scored more than the former Die Mannschaft striker at the global finals to date.

Klose netted twice at Brazil 2014, surpassing A Seleção legend Ronaldo as the tournament’s all-time leading marksman, finding the net against Ghana and in the 7-1 demolition of the hosts. Klose reflects on winning the World Cup in 2014, becoming the tournament’s all-time leading goalscorer and the advice he gave to eventual Final hero Mario Gotze before his extra-time winner.
