Unbridled joy around Korea Republic

There is no bigger release in football than scoring a goal, a moment when tension gives way to unbridled joy, a moment that players experience in different ways. The FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 is proof of that, having served up a whole host of goal celebrations to date.

Dances, rehearsed routines, joyous team-mates piling on top of each other, dedications to unborn children, straight faces and calls for calm, and hands beating hearts and badges: Korea Republic 2017 has seen them all. Rounding up the best of them so far, FIFA.com brings you a very joyful photo gallery.

It begins with an image of Zambia’s players celebrating a win rather than a goal: their thrilling extra-time defeat of Germany in the last 16. “I just can’t describe how it felt,” said Shemmy Mayembe, the man who scored the winner in the Africans’ 4-3 victory. “I don’t know what came over me when I got that goal. It was like my mind was all messed up.”

After the match, Zambia’s hero of the hour led a pitchside dance: “At Zesco, my club in Zambia, we usually do this dance to express our gratitude to the fans. The support we’re getting here really gives us a push.”

We invite you to enjoy every detail of these unique celebrations, each of which shows that the euphoria of goalscoring can take many different forms.
