FIFA has today confirmed the first training sites in Australia that will be available to the teams participating in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™.
Each training site will be available for use by participating teams throughout the tournament and the selection marks the conclusion of the initial phase of team facility planning for the tournament.
The current list of training sites and the corresponding Host Cities is as follows:
Sydney/Gadigal – ES Marks Athletics Field, Leichhardt Oval, Valentine Sports Park, Western Sydney Wanderers Centre of Football
Melbourne/Naarm – JL Murphy Reserve, Lakeside Stadium, Reggio Calabria Club
Adelaide/Tarntanya – Marden Sports Complex, South Australia Football Centre
Brisbane/Meaanjin – Perry Park, Spencer Park
Perth/Boorloo – Dorrien Gardens, Western Australia State Football Centre
The confirmation of these first training sites, following a detailed and thorough evaluation process, represents an important milestone in each Host City and ensures that each facility has 18 months to prepare for hosting national teams next year.
In the coming months, the next phase of the training site project will be completed, with an evaluation of other prospective training sites across both Australia and New Zealand.
