Portugal beat Senegal to keep Paraguay 2019 dream alive

Portugal came from behind to beat Senegal 4-2 and qualify for the semi-finals of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Paraguay 2019.

Senegal defender Mamadou Sylla put the African champions in front with a thunderous finish into the top corner. Jordan replied with a volley to give the Portuguese the response they needed, and ultimately it proved vital. An own goal by Lansana Diassy, a tap-in from Le Martins - assisted by his brother Be Martins - and a free-kick from the latter saw Portugal run away with the victory. Raoul Mendy scored a late consolation goal.

Mario Narciso’s side advance to the semi-finals after being knocked out at this stage two years ago in the Bahamas, while Senegal failed to advance to the last four for the fourth time (2007, 2011, 2017 and 2019).
