The draw

Host nation France, and the 23 teams who will line up alongside them, will learn their fate and who they will be facing in the first round. Teams will be seeded on the basis of the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women's World Ranking released on 7 December 2018 and will be drawn from four pots, each containing six teams, to form six groups of four.

Eighteen teams have already qualified for the world finals. They will be joined by five more teams, once the OFC and CAF preliminaries, as well as the UEFA and CONCACAF/CONMEBOL play-offs have been completed.
