Mother's Day special edition of Kick Off The Dream™ Football Carnival held in Mumbai

Celebrating the occasion of Mother's Day, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup India 2022™ hosted a special edition of the Kick Off The Dream™ Football Carnival at the Cooperage Football Ground on 8th May 2022. Mr Souter Vaz, Honorary Secretary, Western India Football Association (WIFA) graced the event along with Ms Madhurimaraje Chhatrapati, AIFF Women's Committee Member and WIFA Women's Committee Chairman, and LOC Project Director Nandini Arora. More than 450 children along with their mothers participated in the various football-themed games and activities of the carnival which were designed to impart values of teamwork and leadership.

Cognizant of the impact this carnival can have, Ms Madhurimaraje Chhatrapati said, "Being a mother myself and a strong advocate of gender inclusive participation, I am very pleased to be attending this event. Football has the power to initiate positive change and upon interacting with the various mothers here, I am convinced that they're realising the potential this game has in bridging gender disparity." An integral part of the carnival was a quiz on women's football and the pioneering achievements of women in society. This served as an eye-opener to the mothers who realised the importance women have always held in society while also understanding the need of educating their sons and daughters about equality.
