1. What is the Volunteer Programme? The Volunteer Programme is an opportunity for thousands of Turkish people and non-nationals to take part in the FIFA U20 World Cup Turkey 2013 by volunteering their time or services to the Local Organising Committee.

2. How many volunteers will participate in the FIFA U20 World Cup Turkey 2013? There will be approximately 2500 people who will be working in activities directly linked to the hosting of the events or at the stadiums.

3. What are the minimum and maximum ages to be a volunteer? Volunteers must be at least 18 years old before the start of the event they apply for. There is no upper age limit.

4. How can I become a volunteer? After online registration, candidates will participate in the selection process, staying up to date with volunteer-related news on fifa.com and tff.org

5. I'm having problems with my password and therefore cannot register. How should I proceed? Your password must be at least 8 characters long and must include at least one letter, one number and one of the following special characters: ! " # $ %& ' ( ) * + , - . / : ; < = > ? @ ^ _ { | } ~ ¡ ¿. Your password must be different from your email address and must not contain blank spaces.** 6. Can I still volunteer if I have a disability? **Yes. The Local Organising Committee is dedicated to making the Volunteer Programme for the FIFA U20 World Cup Turkey 2013 and their related events an equal-opportunity process.

7. Do I have to answer all the questions in the registration form? It is mandatory to answers the questions with mark, questions do not have the mark are not mandatory to answer. Please remember that your answers will be helpful during the selections process.

8. How does the selection process work? The process will consist of distinct phases (some of which can be done online, others that will require the presence of candidates). Applicants must complete all the required stages and be approved in same. These include:

9. What will the Organising Committee do with my personal information? The Organising Committee will be responsible for your personal information and will treat this as confidential. However, you should be aware that a screening process, including checks for criminal records, will be conducted on all candidates.

10. Can I choose which area I want to work in? Applicants can specify their preferred areas, but during the selection process, the profile of each individual and their respective skills will be verified and assessed. It is important to understand that each vacancy requires specific knowledge, skills and available time and, for the purpose of offering positions, this information will be matched to available candidates to achieve the best possible results.

11. What will I receive for working at the FIFA U20 World Cup Turkey 2013? By its nature, voluntary work does not receive financial remuneration, so there will be no salaries or assistance in paying accommodation. However, so volunteers do not incur expenses, those who offer their time, services and commitment to FIFA and the Organising Committee will be provided with uniforms, assistance with the costs of travelling to their place of work (from within the Host City) as well as meals for the periods in which they are working.

12. How long does a shift last while volunteering? A voluntary work shift lasts ten hours.

13. For how long do I need to be available in order to volunteer for an event? You must be available for at least 20 consecutive days to volunteer for an event.

14. What kind of trainings will I have for volunteering? There will be 2 categories; General Training and Specific Training. In General Training, candidates will inform about general issues such as volunteering, expectations from volunteers, FIFA U20 World Cup. Specific Training will focus on working areas and job definitions.

15. I don’t live in any of the FIFA World Cup Host Cities. Can I still volunteer? You can apply online no matter where you live. However, you should know that you will have to be available to work for a set period in the city you choose or are allocated, and the Organising Committee will not be providing any type of assistance with the costs of staying in said location.

17. Will volunteers be able to attend the games? No seats will be allocated to volunteers. Some volunteers may be working in the stands on matchdays or in areas with a view of games, but it is important to understand that you will be working and will not have time to attend as a spectator. However, there will be Volunteer Centres where the matches will be screened, and volunteers can access these for the duration of their breaks.

18. Is it obligatory to speak good English to join the Volunteer Programme? Not all the positions require foreign-languages skills. However, for certain functions this will be part of the selection criteria.

19. How can I apply if I live outside Turkey? Before the selection process begins, specific information will be given on how overseas applicants (both Turkish people and non-nationals) will be contacted. Applicants are entirely responsible for obtaining their own visas.

20. I have applied. When will I be contacted?  Regarding the FIFA Confederations Cup, the LOC should contact the applicants from November 2012 onwards. The first stage of the selection process is the General Training, scheduled to take place in December 2012. The same schedule should be followed, one year later, for the FIFA World Cup.
