Ghana’s love for football

In a fortnight’s time Ghana and Egypt will lock horns in the battle to seal a ticket to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. With the Black Stars boasting a 6-1 lead from the first leg, their passage appears to be all but secured.

In this Video of the Week we focus our attention on west Africa and explore Ghana’s love of football. The game is hugely popular in the country and is played by fans of all generations.

In recent years FIFA has played its part in helping develop football across the nation of the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists and numerous *Goal *Programs have been important steps along the way.

In addition to providing financial support, world football’s governing body is active in other ways in Ghana too, primarily though offering training courses for coaches and referees.
