Fruitful seminar in Dubai

FIFA, in collaboration with Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW), organised a beach soccer instructors seminar in Dubai from 4 to 7 November 2014 during the Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup Dubai 2014. Topics such as "how to be a FIFA instructor", the roles and responsibilities of a FIFA instructor, the new Beach Soccer coaching manual, Beach Soccer Technical Study Group analysis and new amendments to the Beach Soccer laws of the game were among some of the topics discussed.

Furthermore, on 8 November, 2014 the FIFA instructors were invited to attend the second day of a two day workshop (7 to 8 November) where all the prominent figures of Beach Soccer had open discussions on topics such as the club level of Beach Soccer, FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015, and maturity of the sport, among others, were discussed, showcasing the sport's rapid development and powerful influence on the global scale, across all the football modalities.

"The game today is better than a year ago, but we need to make the game even better", said Joan Cusco, BSWW Executive Vice President and FIFA Beach Soccer Committee Member at the opening.

FIFA management was present of course and shared even more encouraging words, "Together we are making this sport the fastest growing sport in the world", said Jaime Yarza, FIFA Senior Manager Beach Soccer and Futsal Competitions.

The seminar included open discussions and went through the thoughts of every important leader in beach soccer, from players such as Madjer of Portugal, to P. Shahriari, Iranian Football Federation Head of Beach Soccer. All parties spoke of their involvement in the game and the future of the sport.

FIFA Beach Soccer and Futsal Coordinator for FIFA Development Brent Rahim provided his thoughts on the future development of beach soccer. "For the further development of beach soccer, FIFA recognises the importance to work hand in hand with competitions, in order to move the sport forward. Without competitions there is no platform for players to showcase their skills hence coaches don't have the opportunity to put their acquired knowledge into practice in a competitive environment."
