River masterclass

River Plate lifted the Copa Argentina this week for a third time in four years, and they capped off the final against Central Cordoba with this mesmerising team move. Twenty touches later, Julian Alvarez taps the ball into the back of the net for River's final goal in a 3-0 win. The Best FIFA Men's Coach 2019 nominee Marcelo Gallardo had his side playing beautiful football. Thanks for sharing, Nicolasfranciulli!

16,900 strong

That was the number of roaring fans in the stands at Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium to witness the Costa Rican women's club final between two of the nation's powerhouses: Codea Alajuelense and Saprissa. Codea got the best of the two-legged affair, as Priscilla Chinchilla's second-half strike in the return leg lifted them to a 2-1 aggregate victory and their first league title. Stephhlml took notice of the record crowd, another big step forward for women's football in her home country.

Football for all

UEFA spotlighted the story as one of their best of the year, and NikosVrOfficial sent it our way. "Even though some people are different, everyone can unite through football," said Jakobsen.

Wenger beseeches equal growth

As FIFA’s recently-appointed Chief of Global Football Development, Arsene Wenger is already digging into the role with renowned thoughtfulness. "FIFA has a responsibility to ensure football is developing at the same rate everywhere," the former Arsenal boss told FIFA.com. "There is a demand there for the organisation of competitions, coaching development, player development – and that’s what we’re trying to do."
