Brazil, the holders of the Beach Soccer World Cup, played like the beach soccer kings they are so often labelled in a thoroughly-convincing 8-2 win over Oman in Group D.
Mauricinho capped his 100th appearance for the national team in style by scoring a hat-trick, with a goal in each period, while Bokinha and Filipe both added braces to their names on the evening.
Oman had a couple of moments to savour, though, with Nooh Al Zadjali and Sami Al Bulushi both scoring quality goals. Catarino put the icing on the cake with an acrobatic bicycle-kick rifled into the top corner. Beach Soccer fans all over the world now look forward to their next match against current Group D leaders Portugal.
