Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci has sealed a move to AC Milan after signing a deal which keeps him with the Rossoneri *until 2022 on Thursday.*

AC Milan announced on Friday that the club had reached an agreement with rivals Juventus for the transfer of the 30-year-old on a five-year deal, which was subject to a medical completion.

Bonucci leaves the Turin club after leading them to six straight league titles, three consecutive Coppa Italia crowns, and three Supercoppa Italiana honours.

The experienced defender has also appeared at two FIFA World Cup™ finals (2010, 2014) and the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 with his country. He was also part of the Azzurri side that were runners-up at UEFA EURO 2012.

"He is a player with international experience. Technically, I think that he and Sergio Ramos are the strongest central defenders in the world," Milan coach Vincenzo Montella said. "Coaching him is a dream come true".

In Russia 2018 qualifying, Bonucci has made five appearances for Italy, who are level on 16 points with co-leaders Spain at the top of European zone Group G after six rounds of matches. The Italians’ next World Cup qualifier is against Spain at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid on Saturday 2 September.
