Australia have qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2019 with a thrilling 3-2 win over Indonesia in the quarter-finals of the AFC U-16 Championship.

The Joeys, who have become AFC’s third representatives at Peru 2019, are returning to the U-17 showpiece after failing to qualify in 2015.

They had to come from behind to secure their spot, with Sutan Diego having put the Indonesians in front early on – much to the delight of their noisy supporters in Kuala Lumpur.

Daniel Walsh equalised with a fine header, though, and second half goals from Adam Leombruno and Noah Botic set the Aussies on the road to the last four of the Asian finals.

Korea Republic became the fourth and final Asian side to book their spot at Peru 2019 later in the day, after a 1-0 victory over 2017 U-17 World Cup hosts India in the last of the AFC U-16 Championship quarter-finals.

The Tageuk Warriors sealed their first appearance since 2015 thanks to Jeong Sang Bin's second-half strike. The Korean substitute fired home after Choi Min-Seo's strike was parried out by Indian 'keeper Niraj Kumar.

There are now 17 of the 24 slots remaining for the global finals, with the four Asian sides joining Oceanian outfits New Zealand and the Solomon Islands - as well as hosts Peru - at next year's tournament.
