The FIFA Interactive World Cup 2014, was organised by FIFA, alongside the presenting partners EA SPORTS™ and PlayStation®, to determine the best virtual footballer in the world. The tournament helped to interact football fans worldwide via a virtual medium, with the FIWC being accessible through the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 14 videogame on the PlayStation® Network.

The tournament qualification began on October 1st and ran until March 31st, having been split into six seasons. Each season, players from all over the world got the chance to qualify for the FIWC 2014 Grand Final, which was held at the centre of football, in Rio de Janeiro during the FIFA World Cup™ 2014.

The top two players from each season qualified for a spot at the Grand Final, with a third seat going to the player who won the Community Qualifier. But it wasn’t just the world’s best players who got to soak up the FIFA World Cup™ atmosphere in Brazil, as each season, a Country Challenge winner was determined, who won tickets for themselves plus a guest to watch the FIWC Grand Final live, as well as an actual FIFA World Cup™ Quarter Final game at the Maracaña Stadium.

It has been a great way to conclude the 2014 FIFA Interactive Cup in Brazil. We thank all those who participated in helping to make this a highly competitive tournament.
