Emirates, one of the world's fastest growing international airlines and an Official FIFA Partner since 2006, has quickly established itself as an integral and essential component of what makes a FIFA event so special.

The presence of the Emirates' Medal Crew at the post-match medal ceremony helped us to bring down the curtain on the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 with an elegance we have quickly learned to appreciate.

As with our other FIFA Partners, Sponsors and National Supporters, FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 represented the beginning of a journey that will see Emirates reconvene in Brazil next summer where they will again be front and centre of proceedings.

Lining up following the end of what has already been called the greatest FIFA Confederations Cup final held, the Emirates Medal Crew made an impressive sight in their distinctive Emirates Cabin Crew attire as they distributed the FIFA Fair Play and adidas Golden Boot, Ball and Glove awards, as well as medals to the match officials, the runners-up and, of course, the victorious Brazil team.

A Winning Opportunity

During the recent tournament, Emirates hosted VIP Skybox hospitality suites to connect fans with the excitement of the matches while, in Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte, Emirates hosted their much sought out Destination Challenge game.

Ticketholders to the matches in these stadiums were excited to discover that they qualified to join in the football action by participating in one of three games that gave them a shot at winning a flight with Emirates.

Participants competed against each other to try and kick a football onto the Emirates' Destination Wall, which featured one of three Emirates' spectacular destinations - Haneda in Japan, Delhi in India, or Dubai, home of course to Emirates and part of the UAE. The games brought out the competitive streak in those who entered as they showed off their football skills while engaging in some good-natured banter with fellow fans.

Connecting Fans

Emirates became a FIFA Partner only seven years ago, but its Medal Crew has quickly established itself as a part of the tradition and ceremony at every FIFA competition. The Emirates' crew added to the sense of occasion in Brazil, making for an even more memorable competition for competitors, winners and spectators alike.

“As the only airline to be an Official FIFA Partner, Emirates sees the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 as a way to connect football fans around the world for this important precursor to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™,” said Emirates Country Manager Brazil Ralf Aasmann. “With daily flights into Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Emirates connects Brazilians to our network of 134 destinations in 76 countries - including our latest destination in Japan, Tokyo's Haneda airport.”

Safe Hands

The Emirates Medal Crew were also responsible for presenting adidas awards to the tournament's best players.
