Former AFC President’s Cup champions FC Dordoi, previously known as Dordoi Dynamo, have secured the services of Pakistan international Kaleem Kaleemullah for the next two years.

The former KRL striker, who was instrumental in the Rawalpindi club’s journey to the final of last year’s AFC President’s Cup, had joined FC Dordoi on a five-month contract in February but a series of impressive performances helped him secure a contract which will see him playing for the Kyrgyz champions until 2016.

Such was his influence in the team that he scored 17 goals in 16 matches becoming the Kyrgyzstan League’s top scorer in the process. The Pakistan Premier League record goal scorer netted 35 goals in a single campaign and was the league’s player of the year for 2012/13.

“It’s a big honour to become the first Pakistani to sign a contract like this, and I think it’s the right decision for me,” said Kaleemullah, who had struck the solitary goal against his current side Dordoi in the last year’s President’s Cup.

“FC Dordoi have also been the AFC President’s Cup champions. They have been one of the best clubs in Central Asia, so I’m glad that my five-month contract was extended this way.”
