David Villa returned to action as Barcelona finished off their pre-season with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Dinamo Bucharest in Romania.
The Spanish forward had been on the sidelines since December 2011 after suffering a broken tibia during Barça’s successful campaign at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Lionel Messi had given Tito Vilanova’s team a fourth-minute lead after being set up by Alexis Sanchez before Villa was introduced for the final 18 minutes.
Having dominated the encounter throughout, Barça added extra gloss to the scoreline when Ibrahim Afellay produced a sumptuous lobbed finish to make it 2-0 in the closing stages.
The Catalans begin their attempt to wrestle the La Liga title back from rivals Real Madrid at home to Real Sociedad next Sunday, and take on the champions in the two-legged Spanish Super Cup on 23 and 29 August.
