There are not many more prolific goalscorers operating in the highest levels of world football today than Michael Owen. The former Liverpool and Real Madrid man has netted 40 goals in 89 international appearances, plus 152 in 302 in his club career.

Now plying his trade with Newcastle United, the 2001 Ballon d'Or winner has recently returned from a groin injury and now has his sights firmly set on impressing his two new managers: the Magpies' interim boss Joe Kinnear and England manager Fabio Capello.

Yet Owen can point to a series of impressive credentials: he is currently England's fourth-highest goalscorer of all time, he was the youngest player to score for, represent and captain England in the 20th Century.

Now, is giving you the unique opportunity to pose your questions directly to Michael Owen himself.

The striking sensation has agreed to undertake an exclusive interview in the next few weeks, but rather than us asking the questions - we thought that we'd give you, our users, this once in a lifetime chance.

It is easy for you to send them to us: simply click on 'Add Your Comment' below and type in your question. Then click 'Send' - and you will get notification that we have received your question. However, in order to have the chance to 'Ask Michael Owen' you must be a member of the Club. Registration is quick, easy and free - so what are you waiting for?

Unlike the Have Your Say debates and other articles on the site, your questions will not be published on the site, but will instead be collected by members of our editorial network, with the best of the bunch put to the Newcastle United forward in our exclusive interview, which will appear on the site in the next few weeks.

If you're lucky enough to have your question chosen, your username will appear on in the interview, for example:

Football2008: Was this 1970 final the best moment of your career?
Pele: It was a fantastic moment, etc, etc.

Feel free to send in as many questions as you like. We hope that you are lucky enough to have your question chosen but, if not, there will be another chance to ask questions of one of your favourite football stars in the coming weeks.

*The deadline for sending in your questions is 09:00 CET on Monday 17 November 2008.
