The Football Association of Albania (FAF) has been sanctioned for fielding an ineligible player in the international friendly match played between Luxembourg and Albania on 29 March 2016.

The match is declared to be lost by forfeit and awarded 3-0 in favour of Luxembourg, with the FAF also receiving a fine of CHF 7,500 after the FIFA Disciplinary Committee deemed it liable for having breached art. 55 par. 2 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC).

The sanction relates to the player Ergys Kaçe failing to serve the automatic one-match suspension imposed on him following two cautions received during the preceding friendly match played between Austria and Albania on 26 March 2016 (art. 17 par. 2 of the FDC).
