FIFA Executive Programme in Sports Arbitration
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) was established to resolve legal disputes in the field of sport through arbitration and, in addition, provides services to facilitate the settlement of sport-related disputes through arbitration or mediation by means of procedural rules.
In that regard, FIFA’s Executive Programme on Sports Arbitration educates through a hands-on approach to all relevant aspects related to proceedings before CAS, taking into account the specific needs of the world of sport.
FIFA is the most active international federation dealing with CAS and therefore has long-standing and extensive CAS experience. This is based on thousands of CAS cases, which cover the whole spectrum of legal disputes, such as disciplinary, anti-doping and contractual matters. While the practical aspects of proceedings before CAS will be the focal point of the course, arbitration before other sports bodies (e.g. the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal, arbitration models in the North American professional leagues, etc.) will also be examined, providing students with a comprehensive and holistic approach to resolving disputes in sport at international level.
