Following the recent meeting of the FIFA Task Force Israel-Palestine, the Israel and Palestine Football Associations held today, 23 September, a working meeting at the Home of FIFA in Zurich to discuss modalities between both associations to facilitate the movement of persons and goods for football purposes in and out of and within Palestine.

Israel Football Association (IFA) President Avi Luzon, Palestinian Football Association (PFA) President Jibril Al Rajoub, and representatives from FIFA, AFC and UEFA took part in this meeting.

Both associations agreed on the principle of a mechanism under the umbrella of FIFA, including the appointment of two liaison officers between the two federations to the relevant authorities on each side, who shall report to FIFA in order to facilitate the movement of persons and goods.

The establishment of the FIFA Task Force Israel-Palestine was announced by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter in early July, following the mandate he received during the 63rd FIFA Congress and his subsequent trip to the Middle East.
