FIFA has taken note and is satisfied by the decisions rendered by CAS in the cases of Amadou Diakite vs. FIFA and Ahongalu Fusimalohi vs. FIFA, by means of which the appeals of both Diakite and Fusimalohi have been rejected and the previous decisions of the FIFA Appeal Committee have been confirmed.

With these two CAS decisions, all of the decisions taken by the FIFA Appeal Committee on 3 February 2011 have now been confirmed (see the top news link on the right). On 24 February 2012, CAS had also rejected an appeal by Amos Adamu vs. FIFA (see the second-top news link on the right). The other officials who were sanctioned by FIFA did not contest the decision of the FIFA Appeal Committee in front of CAS.

The confirmation of these FIFA decisions by CAS underlines once more FIFA’s zero tolerance and clear stance against any breach of the FIFA Code of Ethics. As a reminder, the original sanctions pronounced by the FIFA Ethics Committee against six officials for a breach of various articles of the FIFA Code of Ethics can be read by visiting the bottom news link on the right.
