The Sport Authority of Thailand (SAT) is to play its part over the next month in raising interest in November’s FIFA Futsal World Cup and inspiring a new generation of Thai youngsters to take up the game.

Between 8 June and 1 July, the SAT will be staging ‘The Futsal Clinic’ in Bangkok’s Plaza area, putting on coaching workshops in which renowned former national team players will pass on their expertise.

The workshops will focus on both the technical and tactical aspects of the sport, with the hope that a new generation of players will be inspired to join local teams and potentially emulate these former stars.

Thailand’s current national team continued their preparations for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Thailand 2012 by reaching the final of the recent AFC Futsal Championship in Dubai.

They also have two friendlies against Spain, European champions and two-time FIFA Futsal World Cup winners, in August, as the Football Association of Thailand seek to provide the most comprehensive preparation possible for Vic Hermans’ team.
