FIFA.com takes a look at the stats and figures from Online Qualification Season 4 of the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2015, where gamers from Bulgaria and Italy won the right to represent their nations at the Grand Final of the world’s largest gaming tournament.
EAsportBULGARIA (Bulgaria) and MaverickJr_10 (Italy) are the qualified players from Online Season 4, bringing the current total of confirmed Grand Finalists to nine! With two more online seasons to be decided, three Live Event winners to be crowned and the top four players that finish in third place to be confirmed, there are still 11 open seats at the FIWC 2015 Grand Final, which will be held in Munich later this year!
Season 4 was an entertaining and emotional roller coaster for virtual footballers from all over the world, and the numbers reflect just how exciting and competitive the season turned out to be. Over 11.6 million shots on goal were taken, more than 4.6 million goals were scored, almost 21 million tackles were made and over 150 million passes were completed in Season 4!
FIWC luminaries Spain and France lead the participation rankings for the 2015 edition (when combined, gamers from France and Spain account for over one-fifth of all FIWC 2015 competitors). Gamers from Nigeria, however, surprised everyone by proving to be strongest on the goal-scoring charts. Nigeria enjoyed the highest goal average per player for Season 4, followed closely by Hungary and Singapore.
