Volunteer registration process for FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™ opens today

  • Registration will run from 31 May to 30 June on the FIFA Volunteer Platform

  • More than 300 volunteer spots will be available

  • Volunteers will be the “main face” of the host country during the tournament

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old

With just over two months until the opening match on 10 August, today marks the start of the application process for people interested in volunteering at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™.

More than 300 people of all ages will have the incredible experience and honour of representing the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 and embodying the event’s essence and values ​​as part of the organising team.

The registration process will be conducted entirely online through the FIFA Volunteer Platform: volunteer.fifa.com/invite/fu20wwc2022.

“The volunteers will experience a milestone event in women’s football, which will be a big party. This is the moment that many people were waiting for: the next step is for them to register and hopefully they’ll see their names on the final list that will be revealed in July. It will be a great team and we thank all the applicants in advance,” said Rodolfo Villalobos, the president of the Local Organising Committee (LOC).

The volunteers at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 will have the opportunity to learn and to connect with people from all over the world through the universal language of football, explained the LOC’s Volunteer Programme Manager, Patricia Gurdián.

“Participating in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 is truly a dream, and we are delighted to invite you to be part of the volunteer programme so you can experience the tournament from the inside. The volunteers will get to know different cultures and languages ​​and, with their charisma and professionalism, will play a lead role in welcoming the 16 best U-20 women’s teams in the world,” she underlined.

Aspiring volunteers should go to volunteer.fifa.com/invite/fu20wwc2022 and fill in the registration form to kick off the application process.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be 18 years or older;

  • speak at least basic English;

  • be responsible and enthusiastic;

  •  be available on the dates of the tournament (10-28 August); and

  • be committed to contributing to the organisation of a major global event and representing the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup™ with pride and respect.
