Lebanon 0-0 Korea Republic

  • The goalless draw in Beirut sees Turkmenistan jump to the top of Group H. Lebanon were playing in their 60th World Cup qualifier in history, while it was Korea Republic's six consecutive qualifier without conceding a goal, totaling an impressive 556 minutes.

Vietnam 1-0 United Arab Emirates

Syria 2-1 China PR

Zhang Linpeng was the Syrians' unwitting match-winner, putting through his own goal with 14 minutes remaining to leave the Chinese five points adrift of their qualifying rivals.

Afghanistan 1-1 India

Iraq IR 2-1 Iran

  • A stunning victory for Iraq, who scored in the 92nd minute through Alaa Abbas to move four points clear of their old rivals at the top of Group C. This was Iran's second successive World Cup qualifying defeat - a fate that has befallen them only twice before (in 1974 and 1998).

Yemen 1-0 Palestine

  • Yemen ended an unwanted streak of five World Cup qualifiers without a win by edging Palestine, playing in their 30th World Cup qualifying match, 1-0 in Al Muharraq. Jordan 0-1 Australia

  • Australia win in Jordan in World Cup qualifying for the first time, following two previous defeats. The victory sees them stay perfect with four wins from four at the top of Group B.
